I started teaching music at age 16 for a bit of pocket money. Now at age 37, I'm happily still going and am as passionate and committed as ever (although I admit, a lot better at teaching than I was then!).

Throughout my teaching career I've taught as an independent teacher, at music schools, and at public and private primary and high schools. I've taught hundreds of individuals, groups and bands of all ages, skill levels and styles. Students of mine have received music scholarships, have had great results in WACE music exams, have studied music at a tertiary level, and have become successful professional musicians.

During this time I've also toured nationally and internationally with several prominent bands and played at many major music festivals. I have worked on records that have been #1 on the ARIA charts, feature albums on triple J and RTRFM as well as received millions of online streams, both as a performing musician and recording engineer. I have been nominated for several WA Music Industry awards, both individually and with bands. I also completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Western Australia in 2015.

I've worked hard at writing my own guitar and drum tuition books and have thoroughly refined them over the years using things that have worked particularly well in lessons. Material from these books has been used by myself and several other teachers that I've mentored to teach countless students. These books often form the basis of my beginner teaching program, but lessons are very adaptable depending on what each individual student would like to learn and what music they are interested in.

In addition to teaching, my other job is running my own music studio Jelly Sound, so I am also available to record any of my students' music or teach them sound engineering!

I genuinely love my work and take pleasure and pride in seeing students improving and music performance becoming a positive influence in their lives.

I hope to hear from you soon!
